Welcome to Rware. A meeting of good minds. We hope that contributors will use decent language and also contribute positively. We wish to have this as a free press but we also understand that freedom is expensive. We hope people will bring in issues that can help others. Education, Career, Health, general infrastrural issues, entertainment, history, conservation and many others. We welcome other people from outside Nyeri in this discussion but the main focus shall be Nyeri District Development. We want those who live outside to connect with contributors back home.

When do Karatina folks come up with a strategy to recap development Issues.
We want all schools to have Computer networkd by 2010.
We want a strategy to limit City expansion into our beautiful rural setting.
We want ways to prepare secondary schools graduate with self-employment skills.
And we want every village to have a computer center.
We want all the roads to be named according to the historical events, geographical identity and not individuals.
We want a memorial for Mathira Freedon Fighters.
We want to recognize Mathira women for starting Karatina as a market long before Colonial days.
We want Karatina Hospital to be a major Research Hospital in the region.
We want to establish opportunities beyond Mathira to others and ourselves.

I am impressed by this website.Yes,we do need to develop our towns.Mathira has many educated people, but most have moved away to the cities and abroad. So,it is a good idea to revisit our origins, east or west, home is the best.
We need another hospital in Karatina, possibly Gikumbo area.I know the women group there have the piece of land to build one,but no money. It is hard when we all look up to European Union or donors, while we can chip in.
Long live Nyeri..

Lets go for it. I am in IT and I am willing to start an annual award in terms of IT supplies if I get people willing to join hands.
I am also willing to start our Blue Print strategy that we could say, this time we start or support this project. Look we have so much we could offer out there from wherever we are. Spread the word.
About Gikumbo, I would support the hospital project.
Something else, I think Nyeri Hospital needs real support at this time too. Any ideas welcome.

See the Karatina CDF and Politics.
Finally, politicians are doing something.
I hope Kuguru will not dismantle the factory if he does not win as his Father’s team with water pipes. ring a bell?

Hi all i think the idea about developing an I.T infrastructure is a good idea i am in the UK but i am going home next week and also go to my former school Kanjuri high, my plan is to build a computer lab by christmas 2008
December 1, 2006 at 4:47 am
I support that. Do you need names of people in Kenya who could be watch dogs of the project. I mean alumni of Kanjuri High?
If so give me your email and I will give you some professionals.
Also include the Nderitu Gachagua because he is an alumni I think.
